Charging Recommendations

1. Always ensure that the battery is not hot and is at room temperature before charging.

2. Once charged, remove the battery from the charger. Do not store the battery on the charger for extended periods of time. Please note that storing a battery in a charger that is not plugged into the wall, can potentially cause the battery to drain back into the charger. This was more common with older chargers and we have also noted it in some newer chargers.

3. It is recommended to not store the battery on the device when not in use. Storing the battery separately removes the possibility of the device slowly draining the battery.

4. If you have not used the battery for 2-3 months, we would recommend recharging the battery and if possible, use them. This helps maintain their health.

5. Lastly, be sure to store your battery in a dry environment. If possible, avoid temperatures below freezing and above 110F to maximize battery life.

Expensive but functional

I think the price was a little crazy but when I called and discussed this with MTO the nice woman explained that the design on this battery is difficult to work with. Apparently, the manufacturer glues the batteries in the case and has the contacts installed that they need to be removed to be able to get the old cells out. She said the labor on this battery is nearly 4x what it is on a normal battery due to these hurdles. I can tell by looking at the case that they had a heck of a time getting it apart. It doesn't look bad but it is noticeable that it was opened. At the end of the day, I have a good functional battery again and I am grateful MTO was there. I don't know of anyone else that even works on this specific battery.....probably due to the design issues.

It works

I have two of these batteries and had previously sent one off to another company that is no longer in business. Both the first company and MTO approached the rebuild from the same angle. This case is apparently very difficult to access. The first company severely cracked the case and its moisture resistance is questionable at best. MTO did some damage as well but I feel far more confident in the fact that it is sealed well. Based upon the disclaimer in the product description I would say that MTO did a pretty good job. I was concerned how badly it might be damaged and it genuinely isn't bad at all. I'll be back for other rebuilds as the need arises.
